Hello friends! It’s time to share some of my favorite things again. These are all things that we use, have used, or eaten, and enjoyed! I hope that you find a little something to try!
French Strawberry Cake – I promised to share this recipe when I posted a picture to Instagram and here it is! It is so very yummy. I thought it might replace my favorite birthday cake tradition, strawberry shortcake (this kind, not this kind) but as delicious as it is, I still want the shortcake for my birthday. Some habits are hard to break.
The “Noggle” – I’ll admit, these things have an odd sounding name and are pretty expensive. But they just work. And that’s pretty valuable. Also, I had two people within two days last week ask me what this thing was and where to get one. The Noggle directs air from a front vent to the back seat (specifically to the carseat.) It gets H.O.T. fast in the south, ya’ll. Especially if you in a car with a black interior (which, by the way, is totally sensible in the North where it is cold/cool more than it is hot!) Without this, I’m fairly confident Prima would have overheated at some point last summer. We’ve needed it a few times already this spring! I’m thankful it’s already installed.
Tramontina Dutch Oven – My lovely mother-in-law bought me this for Christmas. It’s such an amazing gift! I’ve been using it for everything lately – soups, curries, homemade hamburger helper, baking bread, etc. It’s a must have now in my kitchen.
Hymns Every Child Should Know – I found this album through YouTube while looking for nice hymn arrangements for toddlers. Prima is getting music time every morning, exposing her to various periods and styles. Hymns are part of our bedtime routine, and this has been a great way to get her familiar with some classic ones. The arrangements are unique, engaging, and beautiful.
This hibiscus plant! (and a link to buy your own, if you don’t have a local nursery) – I’ve wanted a hibiscus for the back porch ever since I learned that they grow well down here. Which means basically since I moved south almost three years ago. So this month, I did it – I bought one! I love looking at every day, enjoying the vibrant pink blooms.
Happy Friday everyone!
