Happy weekend, ya’ll! Now that Prima is (finally and hopefully) getting over the two month sickness epidemic, extended family matters have settled a bit, and I’m getting back into a nice routine at home, we can welcome back the Weekender! This is probably my favorite post, as I love, love, sharing links to interesting and helpful things with folks. I hope that is a blessing to you this weekend!
This seemed appropriate, given our recent Foundations in Cooking post. Yeast is wonderfully resilient and powerful. You needn’t fear working with it so much.
Quick, delicious, and can be made with all whole wheat flour if you wish.
Why you shouldn’t work for WIRED magazine. Or maybe why you should. The Norseman and I could only shake our heads.
If you love a programmer, you should read these and kinda know what they mean. Especially number eight. Hehe.
Where the Pro-Life movement is (probably) headed. Absolutely fascinating, and encouraging for those of us who are pro-life and wanting to see new life breathed into the argument.
I have actually heard all but one of these, but they don’t usually make any of the Pinterest or Buzzfeed link-baity articles.
This is really helpful, as the Norseman and I are trying to find ways to guide Prima and give her appropriate boundaries without lots of negativity and lots of “no.” Not that negative consequences and “no’s” should never be used, but we think that they are often not actually necessary.
A nice loose guide that I’m using to help me as I work on creating our own Montessori-inspired home and spaces.
This is what I have for Prima to guide what activities we do, etc. It is very, very affordable, even if I feel like it is a bit too light. But I supplement with books and some blogs, and that still equals very cheap/almost free Montessori for us. So yay!
Lara Casey’s site got a makeover! And I am so, so excited for what she has coming (plus the new 2017 Powersheets! :D) I am a huge fan of the brand new design (so much more user-friendly + mobile site now), and I just love the new direction her business/brand is headed in. Whether she knows it or not, this woman is my far-off mentor on mothering and marriage and living, all with authentic faith and grace and peace. Take a moment and get familiar with her and her story. It could be life-changing.
