Hello again! We are sitting here on the sofa hoping for snowfall in the south this weekend. Friends and family up north are already reporting snowfall in various places. I can think of nothing nicer than a nice mug of spicy tea and some snuggle time with my two favorite people while watching the snow come down. However, if all we get is rain (much more likely) it will still be pleasant. Happy Weekend!
You are always changing Yesterday the Norseman and I discussed Prima’s adaptation to her new routine, which brought about the topic that we are always in a state of change – and that we need it. We researched that idea a little and watched this TED talk. I found it fascinating that we always underestimate the amount of change we will undergo at any point in our lives.
Stop dieting if you want to lose wait It goes contrary to the popular belief, but dieting will long-term result in weight gain, according to studies referenced in this article. I found this to be a great article, as it reenforced what we’ve been learning lately about diet and health in relation to lifestyle.
DIY Rolling Pantry Particularly if you have that annoying empty space between your refrigerator and anything else, this rolling pantry would be just the thing. The Norseman found the tutorial to be quite helpful, even with woodworking in general. We have added it to our list of potential improvements/additions to our future dream house.
It’s hard right now Rather than saying, “It is impossible,” or “I can’t do it,” try this perspective. It is one I want to adopt whenever I am learning something difficult, or going through a hard time.
A Small Update
If you’ve been keeping up with on Instagram, you’ve learned that I’m opening an Etsy shop this weekend. It is part of an ongoing project we are calling the heart & home creative. The idea is to have an umbrella brand under which we may open several distinct brands. I’ve been dreaming of starting a small business for much of my life. This is step one! I also want my hobbies to be more than a drain on our income; I want them to actually produce either useful products for us or for bringing in more money than is spent on them. And lastly, we hope to use the income from this project to fulfill both a short-term goal and a long-term goal. Short-term is to help pay down our combined debt, while long term is to support projects such as bush medicine along with education and job training in rural areas (domestic and international.) We’ll keep you updated as this project grows.
