I don’t know about you, but this has been a hard week for us. Sometimes, as you do the right thing, as you step out in faith, it feels wrong. Life begins to crash down around you, situations whirl out beyond your control, and “good luck” seems to have fled. Sometimes, many things happen at once, seeming to be merely poorly timed coincidences that converged on this one moment in time, to smother you. Sometimes, the world, and especially your little corner of it, seem to careen out of control, violent, angry, flabbergasting, and unsafe.
This week has been hard. The stories and the why’s don’t need to be told right now. But I almost didn’t write this post, and yet now I am, because you might need to read it. If you are in a place of overwhelm, tension, sadness, or despair, this small collection is for you. Don’t need it this week? Tuck it away, and come back for it when you do.
It’s Okay to Not be Okay ~ You don’t have to be perfect, and you don’t have to hold it all together. There is a Strength for when you are weak.
The Chemistry of Calm ~ Anxiety is something everyone will have at some point, some worse than others. This book is for you, or that loved one, or friend. It seems promising, and echoes what I’ve been reading lately in regards to food and minerals and herbs and our health.
One Thousand Gifts ~ Well known, not new, but always worth going back for a slow re-reading.
Permission to Rest ~ Yes, take that break for yourself, not your to-do list. It’s okay, and it doesn’t make you a bad person.
