I can hardly believe another week has flown by! And yet, here we are. It wasn’t a busy week for me and my hubby, but it was definitely tiring. We’re ready to just rest up and refresh this weekend.
I also apologize yet again for how late this post went up today. My computer is still having major internet connectivity issues. Hopefully we’ll have them resolved soon. 🙁
Worth the Risk – The Handmade Home
This blog post spoke to me personally on so many levels. The biggest was an affirmation of decisions we had to make after I moved, got pregnant, and got really, really sick. Which meant that going to college in-residence full-time got put permanently on hold for me. I felt like a failure. I was a wimpy, sick pregnant lady, and I was once again unable to finish my degree. I felt like I was wasting time and money. I’ve mostly come to terms with it all since then, but a little affirmation always boosts the soul.
Free Homeschool Curriculum
So not everyone here plans to homeschool, wants to homeschool, or can homeschool. I get that, and it’s okay. If you are planning to homeschool, however, today is the last day to get some free curriculum. I went ahead and grabbed it, since that is something we plan to do. It is written by a Mormon, so I’m not sure how much of that perspective is actually in the curriculum. I plan to read it ahead of time and skip/edit/remove anything that we don’t agree with in our beliefs.
Chocolate Nut Cranberry Clusters
When you make the switch to a mostly gluten-free/real food/conventional sugar-free diet, many amazingly calorie-laden delicious desserts are suddenly forbidden. Le sigh. But, these little fellas are three ingredients, and I really don’t care that semi-sweet chocolate chips and most dried cranberries have some sugar in/on them. I want sweets. And I want chocolate. And I love dried cranberries. So this weekend, I’m making these. I wager they’ll be worth it.
Goodbye Boring Closet Doors
If we weren’t renting, and also if we had this kind of closet door – we would be doing a Home Depot run this weekend. Enough said.

An Honest Conversation About Abortion That Asks Us Not to Turn Away From Anyone – Ann Voskamp at A Holy Experience
I’ve hesitated and hesitated about including this one. But I think it needs to be. Abortion is a really tough topic. It immediately incites emotion on both sides of the fence. But please, take a moment and read Ann’s words. They are gentle. They are deep and insightful. And they offer compassion and understanding to both sides of the debate, in a way that hasn’t quite been done before.
That is all ~ have a beautiful weekend!
